On Wednesday (April 29), the second-year degree examinations in Islamic History and three other subjects were held from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Exams were conducted in seven rooms of the center. For nearly one hour, students were forced to continue their exams using candlelight due to a sudden power disruption.
According to sources at the exam center, strong Kalbaishakhi storms and thunderstorms over the past two days had disrupted normal life in Golachipa and other parts of the country. Despite the adverse weather, the scheduled 2nd-year degree exams, including History, Islamic History and Culture, and Accounting, were held on Wednesday. A total of 309 students participated in the exams. During the session, a power outage occurred, forcing students to continue their exams by candlelight for about an hour.
Exam supervisor and livestock officer Dr. Sajal Das said that due to the power failure, students had to take their exams under candlelight for a short period before the situation returned to normal.
Meanwhile, Md. Siddiqur Rahman, deputy general manager of the Palli Bidyut Samity in Golachipa, stated that electricity supply was temporarily suspended due to adverse weather conditions but was restored shortly afterward.
