Religious Minister Warns Against Hoarding, Black Marketing During Ramadan
Religious Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaykobad has issued a stern warning that those who destabilize markets or engage in black marketing during Ramadan could face severe consequences. Speaking on Wednesday (February 18) at the Islamic Foundation’s meeting hall in Baitul Mukarram after a National Moon Sighting Committee meeting, he said such offenders may be “thrown into the Bay of Bengal.”
Kaykobad emphasized that peace in the country comes from following Allah’s commands, and without adhering to them, the nation cannot be peaceful. He expressed confidence that under the Prime Minister’s firm leadership, those involved in black marketing will be dealt with strictly.
He also urged citizens to observe the holiness of Ramadan by performing two rakats of voluntary (nafl) prayers and praying for guidance to manage the country according to Allah’s will.
