A 15-year-old Palestinian boy, Muhannad Zakaria Eid, lost his life after a humanitarian aid pallet fell on him during an airdrop in Gaza, near the Netzarim Corridor. According to footage verified by Al Jazeera, people could be seen desperately attempting to resuscitate the boy, but their efforts were unsuccessful. His family later received his body at al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat. Muhannad’s brother explained that the aid was dropped from planes over the sea, and one of the boxes directly struck him, leading to his death.
The Gaza Government Media Office stated that since the war began in October 2023, at least 23 Palestinians have been killed and 124 others injured during aid airdrops. The office described the practice as dangerous, inefficient, and expensive, urging that humanitarian assistance be delivered safely and effectively through land crossings instead.
On the same day, medical sources in Gaza reported that Israeli forces carried out attacks across the Strip, killing at least 47 people, including many who had been waiting for aid. The United Nations has repeatedly called on Israel to allow continuous and secure entry of aid through land routes to prevent further loss of life and injuries.
