14-year-old schoolgirl’s dead body found hanging from mango tree in Barishal

Jannatul Ferdous (14), an eighth-grade student from Barisal's Bakerganj upazila, was found hanging from a mango tree near her home in Padri Shibpur union. Police recovered her body yesterday morning, about 300 yards from her house. Initially classified as an unnatural death, the case awaits autopsy results. Her father, Delwar Hossain, stated that Jannatul often visited a neighbor’s house to watch TV in the evenings but did not return that night, prompting a search. This incident has raised concerns, particularly as it coincides with another hanging case discovered in Dhaka earlier the same day.
