The World Bank has stepped forward to assist Bangladesh's central bank in reforming its financial sector, announcing a loan package worth $1 billion (100 crore dollars). On Sunday afternoon (September 15), a World Bank delegation met with Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur. Out of the total amount, $750 million will be provided to Bangladesh Bank as policy-based loans, while the remaining $250 million will be allocated as investment loans and guarantee facilities. The World Bank's board is expected to approve this loan by December.
