A severely drunk criminal entered into Dr. Sunil Pandey's empty apartment in Sector-20 of Indira Nagar, Lucknow, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ghazipur police station. The thief ransacked the residence, tossing goods around and attempting to steal cash, a washbasin, a gas cylinder, and a water pump. However, while attempting to take the house batteries, the thief became drowsy and fell asleep. The next morning, vigilant neighbors saw the open door to Dr. Pandey's house and investigated to discover the chaos. They immediately notified the Ghazipur police, who came on the scene to discover the invader, named as Kapil, sound sleeping amidst the commotion he had caused. The police arrested the thief and charged him with theft under IPC section 379 A. Vikas Rai, the Ghazipur Station House Officer (SHO), stated that further legal actions were underway. He noticed that the thief had tampered with the water pump and attempted, but failed, to steal the home batteries before collapsing and falling asleep due to alcohol. The thief's profound sleep eventually led to his startling waking, surrounded by police.
