Md. Sajedur Rahman, a Bangladeshi, finished the Ironman European Championship in Hamburg, Germany, with great success, his first full-distance triathlon. Standing at 180 km on the bike, 42.22 km on the run, and a 3.8 km swim, this triathlon is regarded as one of the hardest. In the 35–39 age group, Sajedur finished in 13 hours, 46 minutes, and 37 seconds, ranking 2153rd out of 2327 competitors. He had competed in the Frankfurt Ironman in 2022 but had not finished the event, therefore this was his second Ironman try. After his first try, Sajedur, a deputy director at Bangladesh Bank, set out to finish the entire distance. Triathletes qualify for the yearly Ironman and Ironman 70.3 World Championships based on their performance in Ironman contests, which are routinely conducted across multiple nations.
