A photo shared by TRT World shows Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sitting alongside Israeli soldiers and Defence Minister Yoav Katz after a military raid on a Palestinian family's home in the Tulkarem refugee camp, located in the northern part of the occupied West Bank. The image, also published by Israeli public broadcaster Kan News, depicts the home transformed into a makeshift military base after the family was forcibly removed. The incident has been strongly condemned by Hamas, who described it as a "showy move reflecting political and military bankruptcy," accusing Netanyahu of using the actions to divert attention from his failures in handling Palestinian resistance.
Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, also criticized the raid and the ongoing violence. She pointed out that Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes and crimes against humanity, continues to engage in unlawful actions that are now taking place across the occupied West Bank. She warned that these actions are leading Israel toward a dangerous moment in its history and stressed the importance of enforcing international law to hold Israel, and its leaders, accountable for their actions.
