Rajesh Kapoor, a 40-year-old man, was arrested after taking approximately 200 flights within a year to steal from co-passengers, using his frequent flyer miles to buy a hotel in central Delhi. He targeted passengers of connecting flights, particularly elderly women, by rifling through their overhead luggage during the chaos of boarding. Kapoor used his deceased brother's identity to book flights and requested seat changes to sit near his victims. His thefts were uncovered following complaints from two passengers on separate flights. Police traced him by analyzing flight manifests and CCTV footage, eventually finding him through technical surveillance and social media. Kapoor, who previously stole from train passengers, operated with an associate, Sharad Jain, who helped sell the stolen goods. Both men are linked to multiple similar cases.
