There are currently four women lawmakers of Bangladeshi descent in the British Parliament. All recent electoral surveys in Britain show that the current opposition, the Labour Party, is winning the race to take power in the next election. Interestingly, all four are members of the current opposition Labour Party. As a result, the Bangladeshi community is hopeful that at least one person of Bangladeshi ancestry will be appointed to the British Cabinet this time around. Rushanara Ali, a four-time MP, and Tulip Rizwana Siddiq, a three-time MP, are among the Labour Party's top prospects for Cabinet roles.
