The Power Development Board (PDB) has cut off electricity connections to Chattogram Medical College due to unpaid bills totaling Tk1.29 crore. Ashok Kumar Chowdhury, the executive engineer at PDB's marketing and distribution branch in Chattogram, informed The Business Standard that the power supply to part of Chattogram Medical College was disconnected at approximately 11:00am today, June 24. He clarified that separate meters serve the hospital and the college, and the outstanding bills for the college amounting to Tk1.29 crore led to the disconnection of power supply to the college's academic building.
