Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has successfully regained 91 bighas of land along the Jagdal and Beurajhari borders in Ranishankail upazila, Thakurgaon district, ending 70 years of Indian control. Lt Col Tanjir Ahmed, BGB's 50th Battalion commander, confirmed this with a flag-raising ceremony. Following BGB's request for a land survey, a joint BGB and BSF survey identified the territory as Bangladesh's, leading to its return. The community is thrilled, and the land has been officially documented in government records. This includes 15 bighas in Jagdal and 76 in Beurajhari, with 77 bighas arable, 11 bighas as tea gardens, and 3 bighas as riverine islands.
