The Roads and Highways Department (RHD) plans to expand the Postogola–Fatullah–Chasara Road and Gabtoli-Dhour Road into four-lane roads to create a 25.24km inner circular road around Dhaka, aiming to ease traffic congestion. The project, requiring Tk 2,713.63 crore of government funds, aims for completion by June 2027. Upon approval, vehicles can bypass Dhaka via the circular roads. Despite delays due to various reasons, government agencies are now focused on implementing the inner circular road. Additionally, RHD is enhancing connectivity with projects like an elevated road from Panchabati to Mukterpur and expanding roads from Abdullahpur to Dhour. These developments aim to streamline transportation between Dhaka, Narayanganj, and Gazipur.
