Man Prevents Knife Attack Inspired by His Favorite Anime Hero

Ruixian Xu, a Taiwanese man, helped thwart a knife attack on a Taichung metro by drawing inspiration from his anime hero, Himmel from "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End." Alongside 17 civilians, he intervened to halt the attacker, citing Himmel's fictional bravery as his motivation. Xu, embracing his identity as an otaku, hopes his actions will challenge stereotypes and foster positive perceptions of anime enthusiasts.
