The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has declared the highest alert level, Alert-4, to safeguard against Cyclone Remal, leading to a full suspension of port activities. Alert-4 was initiated at Chittagong Port at 9:30am after the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) escalated the alert signal to number 9 on Sunday, according to Omar Faruq, the CPA secretary. The CPA secretary explained that due to the BMD’s signal surpassing great danger signal number 9, the unloading of goods at the outer anchorage has been halted.
