Around Tk 90 lakh, including official and personal funds, was reported missing from Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban during the August 5 vandalism and looting, as revealed in a recent meeting (September 4). Zebunnesa Karim, acting secretary of the Parliament, chaired the meeting, where measures were discussed to recover the lost funds and repair damages. A list of damaged or missing goods from various departments will be prepared. Additionally, three committees were formed to enhance security across key areas of the Parliament premises. Urgent repairs to damaged equipment, including computers, printers, and phone lines, were also prioritized. Following former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s departure, thousands of protesters stormed the Parliament, occupying the chamber hall, taking photos, and damaging property.
