Bangladesh's Chief Prosecutor, Mohammed Tajul Islam, announced that the trial of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina in the July massacre will begin live at the International Criminal Tribunal. The decision was made during a high-level meeting on September 9. The Chief Prosecutor emphasized the government's commitment to transparency and the country's criminal exchange agreement with India. Sheikh Hasina, the main accused in most cases of genocide, will be brought back to the country and face trial in the tribunal. He urged the public to submit evidence of genocide and torture to the tribunal's prosecution or investigation agency before it is destroyed. During the investigation, the prosecutor team will apply for the arrest of the accused, and there will be no legal complications in the legal battle for the state. The judges of the tribunal will be appointed soon. The newly appointed Chief Prosecutor vowed to treat everyone equally, regardless of their influence, and ensure no one was oppressed.
