Islamic scholar and As-Sunnah Foundation Chairman Shaykh Ahmadullah has blamed unapproved and poorly regulated private madrasas for several reported cases of serious misconduct, raising concerns about the lack of proper oversight in these institutions.

He said that incidents of misconduct at madrasas damage the reputation of the entire madrasa education system and create public concern about the safety of students. According to him, institutions operating without proper approval, quality standards, and regulation are among the major reasons behind such incidents.

Shaykh Ahmadullah stressed that religious institutions must maintain proper rules, discipline, and accountability to ensure a safe learning environment for students. He also called on the authorities concerned to take strict action against those responsible for such offences.

He further emphasized that no one should be protected simply because of their religious position or profession. According to him, teachers and religious figures must be held accountable for their actions, just like anyone else. He condemned attempts to defend or protect accused teachers when serious allegations are raised against them.

Shaykh Ahmadullah also called for harsher punishment when a madrasa teacher is found guilty of an offence. He urged the authorities to ensure that the maximum punishment is imposed after guilt has been proven, referring to the punishments prescribed in the Quran and Hadith.

He stressed that protecting the reputation of religious institutions should never come before ensuring justice for victims. Instead, proper investigations, accountability, and appropriate legal action are necessary to prevent similar incidents in the future.

His remarks highlight the importance of regulating private madrasas, ensuring student safety, and holding individuals accountable for misconduct. The issue has also drawn attention to the need for stronger monitoring of educational institutions and proper action against those found responsible for wrongdoing.

Shaykh Ahmadullah's statements call for stricter oversight, accountability, and justice, while emphasizing that allegations must be properly investigated and punishment imposed only when guilt is established.
