Evaly CEO Mohammad Russell and his wife Shamima Nasreen have been sentenced to one year in prison and fined 180,000 taka each for cheque fraud. The verdict was delivered by Chittagong's Joint-Metropolitan Judge Md. Mohiuddin on June 2. The case was filed by Jasim Uddin Abid in 2021. Despite being absent throughout the proceedings, the court reached a decision against the couple. Their arrest in September 2021, prompted by a customer complaint, led to various legal actions against them.
