Salman F Rahman, former private sector affairs advisor to ex-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is currently under remand with the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB). He was arrested on August 13 in connection with the murder case of hawker Shahjahan Ali. During the interrogation, Salman F Rahman requested the DB to release him. He stated, "If I am detained, the 80,000 employees working in my various companies will not receive their salaries. I will not be able to pay the loan installments taken from different banks. This will harm the country. So, please release me. I will fix everything for the country." However, a DB officer responded that he would not be released and would have to remain in remand for at least a year, facing multiple cases.
