The Bangladeshi flagship MV Abdullah, recently liberated from Somali pirates, is set to dock at Qutubdia Channel on Monday night with its crew of 23 sailors. Family members will eagerly await their arrival at Sadarghat jetty on Tuesday afternoon. President of the Bangladesh Merchant Marine Officers Association, Captain Md. Anam Chowdhury, confirmed the ship's entry into Bangladeshi waters. The vessel, carrying 56,000 tons of limestone, departed Mina Saqqara port in the UAE on April 29 and reached the Bay of Bengal last Thursday. The sailors, held captive for 64 days, were released following negotiations and payment of ransom. Owned by KSRM, the ship will disembark at Sadarghat Jetty in Dhaka. MV Abdullah, formerly known as Golden Hawk, was captured en route to the UAE from Maputo port in Mozambique.
