Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) is considering running metro rail services on Fridays due to high passenger demand, despite it currently being the weekly closure day. Initial discussions suggest the change could start in July. However, Mohammad Abdur Rauf, a joint secretary, is not yet aware of any confirmed decision and anticipates an announcement from the managing director soon. To accommodate increasing passenger numbers, DMTCL plans to reduce train intervals during peak hours from 8 to 5 minutes starting in June. The company will also recruit additional staff, likely on a contractual basis.
