Doctors at Dhaka Medical College Hospital have been on strike due to beatings and vandalism in the emergency department. The hospital's medical facilities are closed, and the ICU is open but without doctors. Three neurosurgery doctors were assaulted on Saturday, and the doctors gave an ultimatum to arrest the culprits or go on strike after 24 hours. In the same day, an injured patient from a clash with two groups from the Khilgaon Sipahibagh area came to Dhaka Medical for treatment. Later, another group entered the emergency department with weapons, arresting four people and handing them over to the army. The patient's relatives vandalized the Onstop Emergency Center in connection with another patient's death. The doctors stopped the operation of the emergency department due to security concerns and went on strike before the 24-hour ultimatum was over. Hospital director Brigadier General Asaduzzaman announced that the army would be deployed for 24 hours to ensure the safety of the doctors.
