Grenade found while digging ground for construction in Gazipur

On Monday, July 8, around 9:30 am, several grenade-like objects were discovered during excavation work in the South Chayabeethi area of Gazipur. Workers digging to build a house for local resident Abul Kashem unearthed an earthen pot about 3-4 feet down. When the pot broke open, they found grenade-like objects inside. Kashem promptly called 999, and the police arrived to secure the area. Gazipur Sadar Metro Police Station's officer-in-charge, Syed Rafiul Karim, confirmed the discovery and stated that the Bomb Disposal Unit in Dhaka had been notified for further testing. For safety reasons, nearby residents were evacuated and the area cordoned off.
