Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman passed away after suffering a heart attack in the middle of a match

Grand Master Ziaur Rahman tragically passed away from a heart attack during the 12th round match of the National Chess Championship in Dhaka. The incident occurred while he was competing against GM Enamul Hossain Rajib at the Chess Federation hall, where he collapsed around 5:45 pm. He was swiftly taken to Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital in Shahbag, but doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival after being unable to detect a heartbeat. Ziaur Rahman, aged 50, leaves behind a legacy in the chess community.
