Former BRAC University teacher Asif Mahtab and Dhaka University student Nusrat Tabassum were reportedly abducted by individuals claiming to be from the Detective Branch (DB) late Saturday night, according to their families. Asif, who had sparked discussions on transgender issues in textbooks and supported the student quota reform movement, had expressed fear of arrest on Facebook. Nusrat, a Political Science student and member of the "Chhatra Shakti" organization, also played a significant role in the quota reform movement.
