Facebook-TikTok will be called, BTRC will ask for an answer

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) plans to question Facebook and TikTok regarding their efforts to combat rumors, misinformation, incitement, and violent content on their platforms. State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak stated in a Wednesday press conference that if their responses are unsatisfactory, action will follow. They intend to draft and send a formal inquiry letter by Sunday and expect a response within three days. Depending on the platforms' measures and responses, further actions or restrictions may be considered. Palak emphasized the importance of verifying information before reacting emotionally to online content.
