Former Bangladeshi state minister for information and broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat has been arrested from Gulshan in Dhaka. A Dhaka Metropolitan Police official confirmed the matter. He was arrested after a two-week order by the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) to freeze the accounts of Mohammad Ali Arafat and his wife Sharmin Mustari and block withdrawals in their name.
