Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the interim government, has called on newspapers to openly publish and highlight the government's flaws and shortcomings to aid in its improvement. He made this appeal during a meeting with editors of various media outlets on Tuesday at his official residence, Jamuna. Following the meeting, Mahfuz Anam, editor of The Daily Star, briefed the media, saying, "Dr. Yunus expressed his strong belief in independent journalism and requested us to help build national consensus through our writings. He was also receptive to the various suggestions we shared with him." Mahfuz Anam added, "The Chief Adviser urged us to identify and publish the government's mistakes and shortcomings in the newspapers, encouraging us to boldly contribute to improving the administration."
