Demand to rename Uttara to 'Mugdhonagar' addressed to Chief Adviser Dr. Yunus

The 12-party alliance in Bangladesh has demanded the name of Dhaka's Uttara area as ""Mugdhonagar"" to honor the late Mugdho. The alliance's leaders met with the interim government's chief adviser, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, and proposed changing Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University's name to Shaheed Abu Saeed. They also proposed naming Uttara as Mugdhonagar to remember Mugdho. Shahadat Hossain, the alliance's spokesperson, criticized the Jatiya Party's invitation to the meeting, stating that it has ""killed democracy by tricking the gong.""  On July 16, a clash between police and protesting students in Rangpur resulted in the death of Abu Saeed (25 years old), a student of the English Department of Begum Rokeya University. Two days later, on July 18, Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho was shot dead by the police in Dhaka's Uttara. He was doing a professional MBA from the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).
