Demand to close educational institutions for 7 days in intense heat

The Meteorological Department has issued a three-day heat alert nationwide, fearing a worsening heat wave. The Guardian Oikya Forum has urged a seven-day extension of school closures, citing the risk of illness for children in the intense heat. Muktijoddha, the organization's president, emphasized the need to prevent students from exposure to the scorching temperatures. Meteorologist Hafizur Rahman highlighted the widespread nature of the heat alert, with limited relief expected from possible rain. Excessive humidity could exacerbate the discomfort, warranting caution in outdoor activities.
