Daughter arrested for stealing Tk 1.5 crore from father's locker in Mohammadpur

In Mohammadpur, Dhaka, police arrested Mina Hamid and her husband, Sakibul Hasan, for stealing over 1.5 crore taka from her father's locker. Abdul Hamid, a contractor, discovered the theft after returning from Eid celebrations in Bhola. He filed a case on July 4. Police investigations revealed Mina's involvement; she admitted to taking the money and giving it to Sakibul, whom she married without her family's knowledge. The police recovered 90 lakhs of the stolen money. Officer-in-Charge Md. Mahfuzul Haque Bhuya confirmed their involvement, and a report will be submitted to the court.
