Bangladesh May Consider Seeking Sheikh Hasina’s Extradition, Says Foreign Affairs Advisor

Bangladesh’s interim government Foreign Affairs Advisor, Mohammed Touhid Hossain, has suggested that the country might consider seeking the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as legal cases against her increase. In an interview with a private TV channel, Hossain stated, "If the home ministry or law ministry requests Sheikh Hasina’s extradition in the future, India will be obligated to comply with their demand." He acknowledged that such a move could create an “embarrassing situation for the Indian government,” according to multiple media reports.
