ASP sent on compulsory retirement for extortion, blackmail

ASP Yakub Hossain, along with five policemen including SI Jiban Biswas, formed an organized gang to extort money using objectionable photos of men and women together. They targeted individuals, raided a house in Mirpur, Kushtia in January 2019, where they found two men with a woman. The policemen allegedly handcuffed and assaulted them, took compromising photos, and extorted Tk100,000 from them. Subsequently, an investigation found ASP Yakub guilty, leading to his compulsory retirement as ordered by the Ministry of Home Affairs' Public Security Division.
