Commissioned officers of the Bangladesh Army have been granted special executive magistrate powers nationwide, according to Section 12(1) of the Criminal Procedure Code of 1898. This authority, as per a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday (September 17), will be in effect for 60 days. The powers will apply to areas outside metropolitan zones, and the army officers will operate under the supervision of district magistrates or deputy commissioners.
