Over 100 Ansar members have been taken to Shahbagh police station in prison vans after clashes with students in the vicinity of the Secretariat in Dhaka. The Ansar members demanded the nationalization of their jobs. The clashes occurred after 9 pm, leaving around 40 people injured. At around 10 pm, army troops and police arrived to bring the situation under control, but clashes continued with gunfire and sound grenades. Most Ansar members exited through Zero Point, while some remained trapped inside the Secretariat premises. The area around the Secretariat was controlled by thousands of students, with some students helping Ansar members safely exit. Ansar members' initial demands were met, but now they are complicating the situation with unreasonable demands. Advisers Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud urged the agitated students to remain calm and assured them that action would be taken against the Ansar members who attacked them. Government officials and employees from various ministries and departments were eventually freed after the protesting Ansar members were dispersed.
