All teachers at Nursing and Midwifery College in Cox's Bazar have resigned following intense student protests, leaving the college without any faculty members. Students issued a demand for the resignation of the entire faculty committee, accusing them of corruption, on Sunday. Male students confronted female students, leading to tensions on campus. Five teachers and eleven students were detained for around eight hours. Local authorities, including two resident medical officers from Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital, the additional district magistrate, and members of the Army and RAB, intervened. After a three-hour meeting, all teachers agreed to resign and vacate the college premises. The Directorate General of Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) will now need to address the crisis, and the Sadar hospital superintendent will formally report the situation. Students expressed satisfaction over the resignation of faculty members but expressed concerns about their safety and the future of their education. The movement coordinator, Urmi Akhter, stated that the demands for a corruption-free campus were met, but the movement is not over.
