On Tuesday around 2:30 pm, a student from Begum Rokeya University (Berobi) was k*illed in a clash with police in Rangpur. Eyewitnesses reported that students from Berobi's quota reform movement were marching from the Lalbagh area toward their campus when police blocked their entry. The confrontation escalated, leading to police firing rubber bullets, resulting in the death of a student named Abu Sayeed, a 12th batch English department student. Rangpur Medical College Hospital's director, Yunus Ali, confirmed Sayeed was brought in dead with rubber bullet wounds and mentioned 15 others were injured. Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Moniruzzaman stated that students from various institutions joined the protest, which led to clashes and injuries among both students and police. He noted hearing of the student's death but could not confirm the cause.
