Abdul Kadir Mollah City College in Narsingdi has once again demonstrated its academic excellence by securing remarkable results in this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination. According to the results released by the Dhaka Education Board, 1,551 out of 1,552 students who appeared for the examination successfully passed, recording an impressive pass rate of 99.94 percent. Among the successful candidates, 561 students achieved the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.00.
According to the college administration on Saturday, October 31, students from all three academic streams—Science, Humanities, and Business Studies—performed exceptionally well in the examination. The Science department recorded particularly strong results. Of the 1,058 students who participated in the examination, 394 secured GPA-5. In the Business Studies department, all 180 candidates passed, with 69 students achieving the highest grade. Similarly, all 311 students from the Humanities department successfully passed, including 98 who earned GPA-5.
College authorities explained that the institution narrowly missed achieving a 100 percent pass rate because one student was unable to attend the examination due to illness. Despite this unfortunate circumstance, the overall performance reflects the college's continued commitment to academic excellence.
Swaib Hossain, a Science department student who secured GPA-5, credited the institution's supportive learning environment for his success. He explained that he lived in the college hostel, where teachers and guardians regularly monitored students' academic progress. According to him, their continuous guidance, dedication, and supervision played a significant role in helping students achieve excellent results.
Principal Harem Ullah Ahsan attributed the achievement to the combined efforts of students, teachers, and college management. He stated that the institution had undertaken various academic initiatives under the direct guidance of Abdul Kadir Mollah, chairman of the board of directors. These included regular classroom lessons, additional special classes, home visits, tutorial sessions, and monthly examinations. Furthermore, guide teachers maintained continuous supervision of students to ensure their academic development. He emphasized that both teachers and students worked diligently to achieve the outstanding outcome.
Abdul Kadir Mollah, the college's founder and president of its governing body, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the achievement. He also highlighted that the success belonged not only to the institution but also to the entire community of Narsingdi.
Established in 2006, Abdul Kadir Mollah City College has maintained a strong academic reputation over the years. Its first HSC examination in 2008 recorded a pass rate of 99 percent. The following year, the college secured fifth position among institutions under the Dhaka Education Board and sixth position nationally, achieving a 100 percent pass rate. It subsequently ranked fourth under the Dhaka Board in 2010 and seventh nationally in 2011. The institution reached even greater heights in 2012, 2013, and 2014, securing second position in both the Dhaka Education Board and national rankings while maintaining a 100 percent pass rate.
Although education boards discontinued publishing rankings of top-performing institutions in 2015, the college has continued to demonstrate consistent academic excellence. From 2015 through 2025, it maintained an impressive record of examination results, further strengthening its reputation as one of the leading educational institutions in Narsingdi.
