India is preparing to create new railway routes that traverse Bangladesh

India has approved a survey to establish optimal rail links with Bangladesh and Nepal, aiming to enhance regional connectivity. Plans include constructing 14 new rail lines, with a focus on direct connectivity to Tripura through Bangladesh. Historical rail links between India and Bangladesh, severed after partition in 1947, are being restored. Trials for the Agartala-Akhaura route have been completed, with commercial services expected soon.
