Police officer was fatally shot by a fellow officer in the diplomatic enclave of Baridhara

A tragic shooting incident occurred near the Palestinian embassy in Baridhara, the capital, resulting in the death of a police constable. Constable Kawsar Ahmed was detained in connection with the shooting, and the area was cordoned off by authorities. Both officers were on duty at the embassy. A passing cyclist, identified as Sajjad, also sustained gunshot wounds and was hospitalized. Eyewitnesses, including journalist Hasan Ahmed, reported the sudden firing by one of the policemen when approached. Police recovered several bullet casings at the scene and deployed additional personnel, including a SWAT team, to the diplomatic area. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, as confirmed by Harun Or Rashid, the additional commissioner of the Detective Branch of DMP.
