Shakib Al Hasan made history in the T20 World Cup by becoming the first player to reach fifty wickets in the tournament's history. During Bangladesh's Super Eight match against India at Antigua's Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Shakib achieved this feat by dismissing Rohit Sharma with a clever change of pace delivery, caught at mid-off. Despite a slow start in the event, Shakib secured two crucial wickets in consecutive deliveries against Nepal in the group stage. Now, he stands on the brink of another milestone, needing just one wicket to join Tim Southee as the second player to claim 150 T20I wickets and also aiming to surpass 2500 runs in the format.
