In a landmark achievement for Bangladesh cricket, Mehidy Hasan Miraz played a crucial role in Bangladesh's 2-0 Test series victory against Pakistan, earning the Player of the Series award and 500,000 Pakistani Rupees. Miraz chose to donate his prize money to honor victims of the recent anti-discrimination movement in Bangladesh, which led to widespread violence and casualties, including the death of a rickshaw puller who deeply affected him.

Miraz dedicated his award to those lost in the protests, saying, "I want to gift this award to them." Reflecting on his performance, he expressed gratitude and acknowledged the challenge of batting lower down the order, highlighting key partnerships with Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das. Miraz's five-wicket haul was a personal highlight, and he credited team management for their unwavering support. His donation of over 214,000 Bangladeshi Taka showcases his commitment to social justice, marking him as a compassionate athlete beyond the cricket field.
