Bangladesh's T20 World Cup campaign concluded with a heartbreaking loss to Afghanistan, narrowly missing the semifinals by eight runs. Despite this disappointment, the Tigers managed three wins, showcasing moments of brilliance throughout the tournament. Meanwhile, Afghanistan celebrated a historic milestone, reaching their first-ever semifinal. This edition of the World Cup set a new record in prize money, with the ICC offering a total of $11.25 million (approximately Tk132 crore). The champions will receive $2.45 million (over Tk28 crore 75 lakhs), while Bangladesh earned $475,962 (about Tk5 crore 59 lakhs) through participation and match win bonuses. Despite falling short of top honors, Bangladesh's financial gains underscored the lucrative nature of contemporary cricket competitions.
