David Warner has officially retired from international cricket following Australia's elimination from the T20 World Cup. Afghanistan's win over Bangladesh ultimately ended Australia's campaign, making Warner's last T20 World Cup match a quiet affair. He scored just six runs against India and was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh without any grand farewell gestures due to the team's uncertain fate depending on another match's result.

Teammate Josh Hazlewood acknowledged Warner's immense contribution to Australian cricket across all formats and highlighted the team's gradual transition as Warner phased out of each format. Warner's retirement signifies a pivotal moment for Australian cricket, marking the beginning of a new era with younger talents such as Cameron Green coming to the forefront.
