A case was filed against Shakib Al Hasan in Dhaka during the recently concluded series against Pakistan, which several national team cricketers, including captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto, have labeled as a "false case."

The Bangladesh captain stated that if given the chance to meet with Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the interim government, he would like to discuss Shakib's case. He also emphasized that the entire team stands in support of Shakib.

“The issue with Shakib Bhai is separate, but every player is standing by him. We all know how dedicated and passionate Shakib Bhai is about the game and how much he thinks about the team,” Shanto said. “If we meet with the Chief Adviser and the topic comes up, every player is standing by Shakib Bhai.”
