Singer and former One Direction member Zayn Malik has resurfaced a 2014 post expressing his support for Palestine. Originally shared on July 28, 2014, the post simply said “#FreePalestine.”

Zayn reposted a screenshot of the message on his verified Instagram account on Sunday, adding, “This is for any confused individuals.. check the date.” His post came after criticism from some social media users who accused him of being a “fence-sitter” and compared his recent comments with remarks made by Ed Sheeran.

Zayn has previously spoken publicly in support of Palestinians. In May 2021, he wrote that he stood with the Palestinian people and expressed grief over families who had lost loved ones, calling for an end to the suffering and urging people not to remain silent.
