A youth in Noakhali has submitted a written complaint against FIFA President Gianni Infantino and referee Francois Letexier at Sudharam Model Police Station, alleging biased officiating during a World Cup match. Md. Rakib, 22, from Mandartali village in Sadar upazila, filed the complaint on Wednesday night, naming 15 to 20 people and seeking Tk 5 crore in compensation.

Rakib said he was watching the Argentina–Egypt match on a big screen at Karmulya Market on Tuesday night when he believed the referee made several decisions in Argentina’s favor. He claimed Egypt were denied fair officiating through disputed penalties, disallowed goals, and other controversial calls, which he said caused psychological distress to him and fellow supporters.

Police confirmed receiving the complaint but said the matter is beyond their jurisdiction and advised Rakib to seek legal action through the appropriate international court. As no case was filed, Rakib said he plans to pursue the matter through the courts and may organize further protests, including a human chain.
