Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, speaking as the chief guest at a district Jamaat workers’ conference in Satkhira on November 30, emphasized that women should be free to contribute to the country based on their abilities. He referenced the Holy Prophet (PBUH) including women in important tasks, including the battlefield, and stated that Jamaat will not impose dress codes on them. Dr. Rahman assured that women will be safe at home and work, rejecting claims that Jamaat would restrict women’s freedom if they came to power. He also criticized previous governments for violence, citing the killing of 57 army officers and many Jamaat leaders. He stressed Jamaat’s commitment to building a united and prosperous Bangladesh despite past atrocities.
