On Sunday (January 5), former military officer Major Dalim appeared in a live session on journalist Elias Hossain's YouTube channel titled “Special Live with Freedom Fighter Major Dalim (Bir Bikrom).”

During the session, Major Dalim remarked, “When the so-called leaders fled to India, leaving no one to provide leadership, everyone was busy in negotiations. As Pakistani forces attacked Bengalis, it was Major Zia’s declaration of independence that stood out. At that time, I was serving in the Pakistan Army. Hearing Major Zia’s declaration, I realized it was not the time to remain inactive. We promptly joined the war against Pakistan.”

He also added, “Mujib did not simply die; he was killed in a military coup. After the fall of BAKSAL, millions of people took to the streets to show their gratitude.”
